読み込み速度が遅過ぎるのでストレスになる。 速度改善されればGoogleReaderの代替になれるアプリだと思います。 頑張って!

iPad app crashes upon launch

iPad app instantly crashes upon launch. Our subscription fees literally paid the developer’s Harvard tuition, and now he can’t be bothered to maintain a functioning app. I guess use the browser version until the developer remembers we exist and slaps another temporary band-aid on the issue. What a waste of a good service.

Great News Read

Very flexible

Fast, reliable

Installs instantly, still maintained, and still independent. A solid choice.

Needs work, feels abandoned

This app needs work. It feels like the devs may have abandoned it. Very buggy. Reading through stories is such a hassle

Huh? Brave has better news feed!

I must be missing something. You must sign up BEFORE access to the platform. Once on "news page" most if not all are PAYSITES. There's little to nothing in any category. Most sites being mindless fluff. I had access to three articles. Yet their advertisement for subscription upgrade worked smoothly. None of the chosen categories showed up at all. No way to add links despite banner proclamation? You would think the SPONSORED SITES worked. A workaround of deceptive claim of not collecting "data". I do not believe the suspiciously positive ratings on these apps. Especially, those with unreasonable subscription fees. Easily recognized Dark Patterns throughout. An informed society, protects us all. Please consider BEFORE giving out your information. Or, wasting time and money.

Functionality is kind of nuts?

WHY do I have to tap twice on add feed, once to collapse the keyboard and once for it to actually search? HOW can I make it give me more than five suggestions? UI is either not enough space in the list so it feels like nine stories are really one… or ACRES of space in the card layout, scrolling past a mile of empty space to see like 6 stories. I paid for this thing and I really want to like it; it’s my fourth feed trial this week and it does some things really well, but… some frustrations. Anyway, thanks for not collecting identifier data and look forward to updates.

Good first version

With my favorite app, Reeder, going off in another direction and putting the RSS features into a Classic version, I am a little concerned about how to go forward. Then I see this. It’s pretty close to Reeder, but seems to lack some of the “fit and finish”. I have faith that it will get better. Newsblur is a GREAT way to RSS read.

As bad as the iOS App

I LOVE Newsblur (been paying for it for like 10 years), but both the iOS and the MacOS app are worse than reading it in Firefox. I lack the patience to reconfigure everything to make the interface usable. The fact that I cannot just backup my preferences from my Newsblur account (the same way I can save my OPML file) and load them in one of the native apps, to get the same visual experience, is unacceptable.

Great with a few bugs…

Not sure if it’s just me, but frequently when I’m clicking into a feed, another feed will load in the requested one’s place. Also, when scrolling through feed items, clicking or swiping one will frequently mess with an incorrect one and occasionally will align halfway down the screen.

Now crashes on iPadOS 16.7.10

Apparently the most recent update now causes insta-crashes. Tried deleting and reinstalling to no effect. Paid user.

Broken iPad App

The iPad app has annoying bugs such as broken UI elements and displaying the incorrect story list after marking a folder as read. It’s been broken for a while, so I’m not sure why the developer hasn’t fixed it. I’m considering canceling my subscription due to the brokenness. I love the service otherwise, but the app is nearly intolerable at this point.

Love the app except iPad version really broken

Have used this app for many years and love how straightforward and reliable it is. Great privacy policy too. However the iPad version for some time now is just really broken. It has trouble displaying the columns for selecting feeds and articles, and most of the time shows a blank article body. Not usable. Works great on iPhone on same iOS version.

The best one out there!!

When Google discontinued its newsreader I downloaded a ton of others trying to find one with a similar interface. This one is almost exactly like the old Google app but with more functionality. I liked it so much I paid for the premium service level even though I don't really need it.

Update the App!

If you are going to charge for premium subscriptions then you should be updating the app on a regular basis. It’s been 8 months. The article list with thumbnail generation works on half the feeds. This app and images don’t mix well. The thumbnails that are generated are to small to even see on the left or right. There needs to be an under title option. Also, there must be some sort of size limitation on images. On other rss readers all the article images come through but not on this app. This app needs work..

Used to be great

The app just keeps getting worse. Showing the wrong feed when you click a feed. Lag. UI. UI. UI. Disclaimer: I still use an ancient iPad Air that cannot get the latest iOS, so it might well be my fault. The app used to be great. Maybe it still is for those with modern hardware. I have no idea.

Best RSS reader

Works great and also cross platform.

“Second [or third] Rate RSS Reader”

No support. No way to import personal, prized, well-loved collection of previously saved RSS feeds vis OPML file. Hence: “second rate.” Ugly UI and almost painful-to-engage-with UX. Just saying. Reeder. NetNewsWire. Feedly. All very viable and much better options. Again, just saying.

Xclnt

I consult my reader several times daily (70 feeds) and news blur is very reliable and synchs across all platforms. The paid version is a genuine bargain. Love it!! Update: better than ever. Love that I can save articles.

New update is great!

Latest build 11.1 cleared all my crashing problems on iOS 15, Newsblur is back to the five-star app it should be!

Good but crashes regularly on iOS15

Generally fine but has started crashing regularly after the recent iOS 15 update.

Not great on iPad mini

On iPad mini, this app doesn’t work properly in portrait orientation. The preview pane remains blank. Also, the background keeps spontaneously switching to black regardless of orientation.

Very good, BUT there's a new bug

... in the latest version of the app (10.1). On my iPhone 8, running iOS 12.4.1, the story text now will occasionally be blank after I tap on a story from a feed. If I swipe back out and then tap the story again, the text usually appears. Or, if I toggle from Story to Text and back in the story display screen, that usually fixes it too. But it's a regression from the previous version of the app, which never caused this problem on my phone. Otherwise the app is great and I use it every day.

Alright for free, but there are better paid/subscription options

Used this app for roughly a year freemium, decided to make the switch to premium. It dropped ALL my data in the process. I can’t believe I paid an annual subscription ($35) for it to delete hours of curation & data input. It’s a bad deal and poorly coded. Stay away.

Great rss reader

Love being able to fetch text without needing to open in a browser. Would love to see an option for launching the Brave browser as the default when necessary though.

Love news blur, you should definitely use it. It's totally worth the money.

I love newsblur and I have no problem paying for this service. I use it on all my devices. It's awesome. You should get it. AND THANK YOU!!!! The app will now come back to the article I was reading when I come back to the app instead of it being lost forever. And that white box bug is gone! You guys rock! Only thing left is split screen will still have issues sometimes with text going off the app but its much less now.

Excellent, with one new bug.

Certainly the best rss reader site/app. OTOH, an infuriating bug has appeared: Random reloading when you view an article in the browser in reader view. On the order of once per minute.

Useless Freemium Model

You can’t read full articles as a free user. Useless...

New release (9.0) has much worse usability

Hiding the status bar means there's no easy way to exit a story or scroll to the top. The story list screen item layout is terrible, with overlapping text everywhere.

How do I get the toolbar back? I hate it when updates break apps and you can’t roll back in iOS.

I rely on this app for work

I need to follow a ton of sites for work, and Newsblur is by far my favorite rss feed service. Great format, responsive developer, can't ask for more.

My preferred way to read news

I've been using NewsBlur for a few weeks as part of the testing process and am now happily using version 1.5 on my iPad and iPhone. It's a great companion to the web interface and I actually enjoy using the apps far more that the website. I love that everything syncs quickly, the feeds display nicely and the app is intuitive. The UI, while simplistic, is totally functional and mostly stays out of the way. I'd probably share a bit more if the sharing button for a story was more prominently displayed. I've had a few crashes here and there, but not recently. My guess is that the backend is getting cleaned up a bit. Overall, this is a great app and I'm looking forward to the continued development. Thanks for fixing the scrolling issues in this latest update - Jan 2019!

Not worth 30 dollars a year

I mainly use it to get all of the rss feeds and since you can’t view the full article without paying I just go to fiery feeds and get access to the full articles that way.

Great RSS reader

My favorite RSS reader

Great RSS reader with free push notifications!

NewsBlur is a great RSS reader. I like it better than Feedly because free push notifications are included. I read a paid IFTTT subscription is necessary for Feedly push notifications. The free push notifications in NewsBlur don’t show the full text of the article but the notification of a new article from any RSS feed is an awesome feature! The premium version gives better push notification options.

Lame Freemium Model

App is generally fairly solid, does RSS about as well as could be expected. However, you must upgrade to a “premium tier” in order to view full article text which effectively makes the app useless for free-tier users. Uninstalled.

What happened?

Latest update makes it virtually impossible to use app. Any text extraction is new a Premium$ feature. So disappointed.

I’ll say it

The rightful heir to Google Reader

Pros of the app just became premium

Big fan of this app for years. However, most of the “Pros” just turned into premium features at an OUTRAGEOUS price. Switched to a different app today.

Once great

Used this app every day for 3 years. Was once great but the new version puts all the best features behind a paywall. Definitely not worth $30/year when there are other rss readers out there that offer the same functionality for free.

Latest update

Deleting.

Latest Update-Free Goes Premium

“New View: Infrequent Site Stories shows stories from feeds that update less than once a day (Premium Only)” Translation: “We took the coolest free features of this app, and butchered them so that it’s pointless to use them unless you pay us and go Premium.” Deleting this once extremely useful app...

Got greedy

Have enjoyed using this app every day for two years but will be deleting. Can't even read a news story now without paying.

Cash grab: stay away

Used to be a great app. New update intentionally removes key functionality in a short-sighted cash grab. I’m deleting the app and you should too!

Love newsblur, not this revision

Since the latest update, when I scroll through a list of articles, it marks them all as read even if I don't open the article.

Newsblur

A good newsreader for people on a budget.

Best RSS App

Best out there if you want one that syncs with the web version and doesn't try to anticipate what kind of news you're looking for.

Last Update Spoiled this App

I've used this App for months and found it to be great. I just downloaded the update I received today and cannot use the program any more. Article titles cover 2/3 of the page (left to right) obliterating a 1/3 or more of the column that should have shown the article itself. Not a big problem since that last column - where the article should be - is completely BLANK. Went from 5 stars to 1 star since I cannot give it Zero stars. I hope a fix is in the works!!!! IPad2 with IOS 7

Excellent news reader

Extremely good news reader. Can't login with Feedly to import, but you can import OPML files, which is a nice touch. Works more reliably than any other iOS news reader I've used. Site rendering and reading mode is superb. This is my favorite news reader right now. Keep up the great work! Suggestion: Create and end of feed page when you are viewing articles, so it doesn't look like it won't go to the next article. That way I know I'm done.

Love love love it!

The globally shared stories queue is a black hole of wonderful.
